Hi, I'm Amela. A few years ago, I built a garden in my Pleasant Hill backyard after moving to the suburbs from San Francisco. That garden became The Lily Patch, named after my goldendoodle Lily, who's been supervising the operation ever since.
Floral arranging found me the way good things usually do: by accident. It started as something meditative, a way to slow down and work with my hands. When I created arrangements for a friend's wedding and saw how people responded, something clicked. This feeling—the focus, the creativity, the satisfaction of building something beautiful—it's too good not to share.
The Lily Patch events are about giving you space to discover what I discovered: you don't need to be "creative" or "artistic" to make something you're proud of. You just need flowers, a little guidance, and permission to try.
